Taking a better pet photo
- Get down to their eye level instead of shooting from above.
- Use window light or shade outdoors; flash makes eyes glow.
- Focus on the eyes. If the eyes are sharp, the rest can be soft.
- Take a burst and pick the one where they're looking at you.
Photos of pets who've passed
Often the best photo of an old friend is a quick phone shot from years ago. Upload it and the checker will tell you the largest size it will look good at. An 8×10 or 11×14 is often just right.
Working dogs and ranch animals
Stock dogs, hunting dogs and horses look great on metal, especially action shots outdoors. Fast-moving shots can be blurry, so pick one where the face is crisp.
